WAKE FOREST, N.C. — An Olympic star who helped guide the United States to its first and only soccer victory in Beijing has a deep, emotional connection to the Triangle.
Stuart Holden, a midfielder for the U.S. Olympic team, was inspired in part by the memory of a young cancer patient he befriended.
